Holiday Card Drive for Deployed military members

Hey good people,

I know I've absent for a little while, but I am back with a worthwhile request.

The McConnell Air Force Base Library is hosting it's annual "Holiday Card for the Troops" drive from 14 Oct-14 Nov 2012. Last year, they raised 8,750 cards and the goal for this year is 10,000. The cards are mailed to Airmen and Soldiers in various deployment locations. Each year they invite several community organizations to participate; therefore, I am inviting you.

Requirements for cards:

- 5 cards, due by 12 Nov, so that I can turn them in by 14 Nov

- Only homemade cards accepted and must not be any larger than 5 x 7 inches

- Include the following information with each card:

§  Organization name (your information..i.e. Scraps of Color)

§  Your name

§  Mailing address and/or email address (many of the soldier’s like to write or email the person they get a card from)

I suggest using an Avery label for the info and adhere it to the back of each card.

Hey Good people,

It has been wayyyyyy too long and I apologize.  I am in the mist of studying for my final military promotion (Chief Master Sergeant) and I really want it.  So please pray for me to retain and recall the study material as needed.

Ok enough of that!  Soooooo, over at SOC (Scraps of Color) the Robert Jackson Digital group is hosting a challenge called RJ Song Challenge.  You must create a card or something using RJ's image, but the twist is to use a song as a sentiment.  Ummmmm!  Those ladies are freakin' creative.  Well, I submitted this card...Using the "Clean Up Woman"  a song by Betty White.  Yep! I took it wayyyyyyyyyyyy back. 

A few lyrics of the song:

 A Clean up woman is a woman who
gets all the love we girls leave behind.
The reason I know so much about her
is because she picked up a man of mine.

Good morning good people,

I was watching the  highlights of the London Olympics and the USA women's beach volleyball team was asked "what are you going to do to get back on top" after the lost one match.  The ladies responded with what they had been taught by their coach:  Breathe Believe and Battle!  I thought those were some powerful words, so I was inspired to design this card with the sentiment: Don't Lose Sight of the Goal.  Just like with the USA team, we lose the fight from time to time, but if we keep their motto in mind and continue to put one foot in front of the other, we will win!  Take Care and Much Love,  Kinkybella
